Hungarian National Bank Logo! WOW!

Hungarians are working hard at keeping their heritage intact. This is why they have decided it is very important to change the logo of their National Bank. It simply did not reflect the spirit, mindset and culture of this organisation or its customers.

The old logo:

The new logo:
I really would like to find the people who signed off on this logo.
I must get in touch with the designer, he has breached copyright.
I had this logo designed for my Trance Anthems Compilation coming out this summer.

Obol XI - A Real Gem in Budapest! - Nothing Nutty About it :)

I was pleasantly surprised this evening while walking in the "Obol XI", A beautiful "world class" park just a shorty stroll from my flat.

It reminded me of the days when I used to walk every morning on the Swan River foreshore in Perth WA,
the only things were missing are the Swans.

Budapest is a beautiful old city with patches of restored, trendy, well maintained and new areas reflecting a world class capital city of Europe. Though there still is much to build, restore, clean and organise around here. I truly believe that this city will rise to the elegant glory it once portrayed.

For the first time I felt the familiar calming, peaceful, orderly, post modern and clean atmosphere around me. Do visit! http://www.obol.hu/ParkEN.html

Beware of the Checkout Ladies

Beware of the checkout ladies at any department stores or local grocery stores anywhere in Budapest.
Here are the rules:

- Approach with extreme caution
- Avoid eye contact under any circumstances
- Do not try to be nice they will hate you even more

- Place your chosen products on the conveyor belt with the heavy things in front and the fragile things at the back. She will make an extra effort to smash the bag of potatoes on your bag of tomatoes.

- Do not talk to the people at front of you or behind you
She will get very confused and start shooting away with her code gun like she is on the wild west. Charging everything on the belt all over the place. And you will have to pay for everything! Then you will be stuck at the Customer Service Desk for the afternoon to have it all untangled and get your money back.

- Pay with the exact amount that you are purchasing
You will simply not be served, your big money is no good for them. In case you try to fight for your right and demand to be served, security will escort you out.

- Under no circumstances you are to ask for an additional plastic bag! These checkout ladies are very much conscious about your carbon footprint, and they will do everything in their power to make sure you are carrying most of your shopping in your hand juggling the milk and the apples.

Watch out for the Lactose Intolerant Homeless in Budapest

Watch out with the lactose intolerant Homeless

Today we stopped at Hungry Jacks (well you call it Burger King around here, like anywhere else other the Australia) :)

We decided to offer the additional cheese burger we have purchased to a homeless, who was sitting across the road from us with his beautiful german shepherd.

The guy took the burger! - Then told us that it would be better if we gave him money so he could have got some fried chicken since he is allergic to cheese. OK! So we have a homeless who is allergic to cheese! Fine I can take that!

We then asked him why not give it to the dog!  Reaction: Oh the dog doesn't eat Hamburgers!

I am waiting to meet the homeless with a lactose free, dairy free and vegan diet who owns a dog that only eats chicken flavoured pedigree pal.

My partner rates the homeless, she only gives money to non alcoholic old lady's!
It's quiet sad that there are so many homeless in this country that one has to choose who to help with a few coins.
Though this is the story, we buy a little piece of happiness when we help a homeless, though are we doing enough? No...

What is the long term solution for:
- The retired who receive so little pension that they can not heat their homes or eat every day.
- The depressed alcoholics who lost hope, vision or care to build his life.

My partner chose to help the retired pensioners over the alcoholics, I guess they are less smelly though is their problem bigger then the other types. NO.
