Today we stopped at Hungry Jacks (well you call it Burger King around here, like anywhere else other the Australia) :)
We decided to offer the additional cheese burger we have purchased to a homeless, who was sitting across the road from us with his beautiful german shepherd.
The guy took the burger! - Then told us that it would be better if we gave him money so he could have got some fried chicken since he is allergic to cheese. OK! So we have a homeless who is allergic to cheese! Fine I can take that!
We then asked him why not give it to the dog! Reaction: Oh the dog doesn't eat Hamburgers!
I am waiting to meet the homeless with a lactose free, dairy free and vegan diet who owns a dog that only eats chicken flavoured pedigree pal.
My partner rates the homeless, she only gives money to non alcoholic old lady's!
It's quiet sad that there are so many homeless in this country that one has to choose who to help with a few coins.Though this is the story, we buy a little piece of happiness when we help a homeless, though are we doing enough? No...
What is the long term solution for:
- The retired who receive so little pension that they can not heat their homes or eat every day.
- The depressed alcoholics who lost hope, vision or care to build his life.
My partner chose to help the retired pensioners over the alcoholics, I guess they are less smelly though is their problem bigger then the other types. NO.
